Sunday’s Guest: Toumal the Orca!
Our guest Tomorrow will be Toumal the Orca. Well known for his work on one of the first Furry content websites, Yiffstar, and his collaboration on SoFurry. An Austrian fur as well as our first cetecean or aquatic mammal. He dabbles in electronics, he’s an avid Ham Radio enthusiast and RC plane creator he also enjoys shooting and sushi, a lot of sushi. Toumal has been part of the fandom since 1997 and created Yiffstar in 2002 which changed to SoFurry after a collaberation in 2009 with Osver Kesh who had Suggested that they merge and thus Sofurry was born. We are very honoured to have Toumal on, on Sunday evening and we will be dedicating the evening to chatting about the difficulties of running a Furry content website and some of the projects that he will be running throughout the next couple of months.
Be sure to join us Sunday at 8pm CAT, 7pm CET and for you American furs (as DST ends on the 1st) 1pm EST on: Furry.FM or Furstre.am

SOUTH AFRIFUR Podcast #3, Sunday 7PM GMTOktober 23, 2015
Sunday’s Guest - Arrkay: Culturally F’d
Arrkay, a red-winged blackbird (also the first avian we’ve had on the podcast) will be rejoining us this Sunday at 8pm CAT and 2pm EDT.
He has been around since 2010 and has since become a voice to the many questions we might have in respect to anthro/furry culture. From Egyptians to FurryMuck from “Furryconomics” to Con-culture. He helps us understand the inner nature of that was and is our social-dynamic. Slowly gaining some headway within the community as an influential voice on the origins of the furry fandom. His matter-of-fact commentary and his interesting looks into the history of furries gives a lot of weight to the argument that it didn’t just start in one place. He’s been researching these origins and looking at backstories on popular topics within the fandom and we’re glad to have him on.
Check out his YouTube-channel: Culturallyfd and find out what he has to say!
We’ll see you here on furry.fm and https://furstre.am/stream/South-Afrifur and if you miss out, check out our backlog: www.youtube.com/c/southafrifur

SOUTH AFRIFUR Podcast #2, 7PMOktober 15, 2015
South Afrifur - Kyell Gold: The Fox behind the Book
Kyell Gold is a writer, not just any writer, many would call him the writer of the fandom. His expressiveness in his depictions, his attention to detail and his ability to capture the soul of how complex the mind can be stands him in good stead to be considered as such.
Many of his stories have inspired writers to move forward and attempt to find that same sense of expressiveness. Many, thanks to his contributions, are becoming writers in their own right. As an ardent believer in the human condition one can only really say that his books inspire.
Sometimes we hope that the lives we live could be as exciting or that we could understand the adventures that his books elicit from seemingly normal encounters. Some of us understand all too well some of the tribulations his characters endure. Kyell Gold, between 2005 and 2011 swept the furry world by storm winning winning Best Anthropomorphic Novel in 2005 and 2006, then 2008-2011 and Best Anthropomorphic Short Fiction from 2006-2011 at the Ursa Majors.
Gold has been guest of honour at Feral! 2009, Furry Fiesta 2010, Rocky Mountain Fur Con 2011, Furry Weekend Atlanta 2012, Oklacon 2012, Gaylaxicon 2012, ConFuzzled 2013, Eurofurence 20 (2014), Furry Migration (2014) and RainFurrest 2014.
Many of his novels are ‘Coming of Age’ novels and take a genuine look at the gay scene in particular, personally allowing one to draw comparisons to movies in the human genre like Broken Hearts Club. We are truly honoured to have such a prolific writer within our midst.
In respect to the podcast, we will have the pleasure of drawing him out of his writerly ways on Saturday (for those of you who don’t know our normal podcast takes place on Sunday) 1pm ET and 7pmCAT respectively. We will speak about his own origins, his love for writing, his quiet activism through his writing, future plans and we will hope to get a better understanding for the Fox behind the Book.
